Seeking an opportunity to serve, one that feels right and perfect for you?

However you feel called, we welcome you.  None of our activities at Interfaith Unity would be possible without the volunteer work of our members.  Add your name to the board in our entryway and let us know how you would like to help.  Shop in our abundant bookstore.  We always need office help, cleaning help, errands, visitations, prayer, music, organization, and computer skills.  If you have special professional services to offer our members, let us know that as well.
Chaplaincy Program
Joel Osteen, Senior Pastor of Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas, says: "The world is desperate to experience the love and compassion of our God. More than any other human attribute, I believe our world is crying out for people with compassion, people who love unconditionally, people who take some time to help their fellow sojourners on this planet."

Interfaith Unity Church is committed to reaching out in prayer, comfort and support to our congregation. Toward that end, we have created a Prayer Chaplain Program.

Our Prayer Chaplains have embarked on a path to deepen their compassion and share unconditional love with you. Each member and regular attendee of our church will receive a phone call every month from one of the chaplains. Your chaplain will lovingly listen to you, pray with you, and hold in confidence anything shared by you.

This program originally was developed by Rev. Lei Lanni Burt and Diane Williams of " Light and Love Ministries."  The program was formed to assist leaders in creating effective and innovative pastoral care programs which will empower and motivate ministries in an even greater service to their congregations.
People who volunteer to be a Prayer Chaplain agree to accept certain responsibilities, such as:

   * being an active member of Interfaith Unity Church
   * attending mandatory orientation and training sessions
   * attending once monthly Chaplaincy meetings
   * making a one-year commitment to serve
   * maintaining an active personal prayer life
   * making monthly wellness phone calls to members of our congregation
   * making hospital and home visitations when appropriate
   * being available to pray with others on a consistant basis
   * communicating regularly with the Prayer Chaplain Trainer

No prior experience in prayer or praying with others is required to serve as a Prayer Chaplain. All prospective chaplains receive extensive training.
Help create the loving and sacred space for everyone who comes to worship at Interfaith Unity a Greeter, Usher or Support person. If you can say “hello” and smile, type and/or hand out a bulletin, help folks find their seats, or even set up the sanctuary for services, this is for you!

Board of Directors:
Our board members are, quite literally, the backbone of the church, as they make the directional and financial decisions for the church.   On Father's Day, June 15, Rev. Lewis introduced the board to the congregation.
