PRAYERS OF INSPIRATION AND TRUTH

"Ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full."
~John 16:23

Prayer for Protection

The Light of God surrounds us
The Love of God enfolds us.
The Power of God protects us and
The Presence of God watches over us.
Wherever we are, God is, and all is well

Almighty God, Who has given us this good land for our heritage; We humbly beseech Thee that we may always prove ourselves a people mindful of Thy favor and glad to do
Thy will.  Bless our land with honorable ministry, sound learning, and pure manners.  Save us from violence,
discord, and confusion, from pride and arrogance,
and from every evil way. Defend our liberties, and
fashion into one united people, the multitude brought
hither out of many kindreds and tongues. Endow
with Thy spirit of wisdom those whom in Thy
name we entrust the authority of government, that
there may be justice and peace at home, and that
through obedience to Thy law, we may show forth
Thy praise among the nations of the earth.  In time
of prosperity fill our hearts with thankfulness, and
in the day of trouble, suffer not our trust in Thee to
fail; all of which we ask through Jesus Christ our
Lord. Amen.

~Thomas Jefferson
DEAR JESUS, help me to spread Thy fragrance everywhere I go. Flood my soul with Thy spirit and love. Penetrate and possess my whole being so utterly that all my life may only be a radiance of Thine. Shine through me and be so in me that every soul I come in contact with may feel Thy presence in my soul. Let them look up and see no longer me but only Jesus. Stay with me and then I shall begin to shine as you shine, so to shine as to be a light to others.

"No man has ever prayed without learning something."
~Ralph Waldo Emerson

Some prayers are best left unfinished, God of abundance,
and this will be an ongoing conversation between us.
Each day, I discover new gifts you offer me,
and the list of reasons to be thankful grows.

As I accept your gifts and live with them thankfully,
guide me to become a person
who shares with other so that they, too,
can live abundantly.  May someone, somewhere, someday
say of me, “I am thankful to have this person in my life.”

New insights are revealed to me as I live in the light of God's love.

You, God, are an unending source of love within me. This is the truth I hold deep in my heart as I look to You for direction. I live in the light of Your loving wisdom, dear God, and know that Your light guides me in right ways. I am certain that my way is clear as I choose the path that is right for me.

I open my mind and heart to Your wisdom, Your radiant light. Knowing that You reveal new insights to me in quiet moments of prayer, I relax and gently release any concern.

I am peaceful and calm, an open channel of Your guiding wisdom and unending power.

Resting in an awareness of your guiding love, I pause now in quiet prayer …

God's healing presence infuses every cell of my body with vitality.

As I rest in an awareness of Your loving presence, dear God, I give thanks for the healing activity within me now …

The speaker of the word
and the hearer of the word
and the words themselves—
all three become spirit in the end.

With my first waking breath, I ask God, may my life be a prayer, and I thank God!
Before I get up--I listen to the sounds of God's world--life itself,
Birds chatter, cats meow and the paper hits the door, then the smell of coffee,
Ahhhh!  Thank you God!

My day is doing your work and what I call mine.
Intertwined are the threads of laughter, building relationships, helping others,smiling, sharing your wonders and realizing them more every moment, myself.
I thank you again, God!

A letter, a call, another smile and even a hug.
Stopping for a stranded motorist, massaging a headache away or to help a sick relative.
Thank you, God, for the opportunity to be of your service.

For it is when I feel most drained, when I am most tired,when I am overwhelmed with all I have to do and I hear, "just a moment of your time, please."
when I haven't seen much sleep and I crawl into my room and I just be--me.

It is then I feel your gentle kiss, your tender hug and your sweet, sweet voice.
It is then that I realize more fully.
"I am."
It is then that I know.
my life is a prayer.

It is then I fall to sleep and ask one last favor of you.
That I may kiss those I touch with the same gentle kiss I get from you.
And I look forward, to the morning, and another opportunity.
Thank you, thank you, thank you God.

May You alone be visible through me today.
May I be wise in Your wisdom.
May I be compassionate in Your compassion.
May I be generous in Your generosity.
May I be truthful in Your truth.
May I be gracious in Your grace.
May I be strong in Your strength.
May I be gentle in Your gentleness.
May I be forgiving in Your mercy.
May I be loving in Your love.
And may I be still in the quie of Your Holy Mind.

God in my heart.

God in my sufficing,
God in my slumber,
God in mine ever-living soul,

Ask, and it shall be given you;
seek, and you shall find;
knock, and it shall be opened to you.
For whoever asks, receives;
and he who seeks, finds;
and to him who knocks, the door is opened.

Matthew 7:7:8

Oludumare, oh Divine One! I give thanks
to You, the one who is as near as my
heartbeat, and more anticipated than my
next breath. Let Your wisdom become one
with this vessel as I lift my voice in
thanks for Your love.

Lord, take me where You want me to go;
Let me meet who You want me to meet;

I Am a child of the living God

I have within me the all-creating power of the Christ.
It radiates from me and blesses all whom I contact.
It is my life, my strength, my courage,
My patience, my peace, my poise,
My power, my wisdom, my understanding,
My joy, my inspiration, and my abundant supply.
Unto this great power I entrust all my problems,
Knowing they will be solved in love and justice.
O Lord Christ!
I have laid all my desires upon Thine altar, and I rest in Thy graciousness.
Amen!
